Grizzly's police experience:

June 30th, 2013
I hope that everyone had a great weekend & I hope that you are all preparing for the most amazing week ahead!

My favorite holiday is fastly approaching and I couldn't think of a better way to start my weekend then with a game of beer pong!

We take this game very seriously and have created a TON of memories by playing with people. Last night we played and had a great time until 2 am. I'm not the strongest player by any stretch but enjoy the game.

Anyway, I bet at this point you are wondering how the title ties into beer pong.. let me tell ya..

We put the beer cans in our recycling can and that's behind our gate. The last person who set up the game left that gate open. This early afternoon after we all were starting to wake up, I put the puppies in the backyard and went about my morning. I had just set down with a cup of coffee and a game of "Candy Crushers" when we see this:
This guy comes to our door and my brother, J, answers the door. The guy asks us if we own a small fluffy dog and brings Grizzly out of the truck. Thank God Grizzly had his ID on, which he normally doesn't due to the harness he wears. I had put the ID collar on him for our vet appointment Wed and never took it off - Thankfully! Grizzly was cited for jaywalking down a busy intersection just a street over from ours & was brought home. After grabbing my jailbird out of this officers hands, he requested documents showing his rabies vaccine. I went to grab the paperwork with Grizzly close by and came back to the patient man. He told me that CA has a law that 'all' animals must be vaccinated and licensed  over the age of 4 months old. Just then Gideon pokes his head through the open gate & then I was asked to show rabies vaccinations on him as well. Long story short, Grizzly's little jaywalking adventure cost us $60. Both dogs are now licensed with the State of CA. ((Thank goodness he didn't see Spice)).
We all laughed about how Grizzly got brought home by the dog police & we had to pay a fine to release him. What a morning. *Spice had an appointment on Thursday but it was canceled by the vet due to an emergency surgery.. so we will be sure to reschedule and get her licensed as well asap!*

Now with it being NO secret that my favorite holiday is just a couple days away - I'm busy planning a very eventful week. The plan thus far is to have hot dogs & watermelon on hand - along with an alcoholic beverage or two. We are undecided if we should watch the fireworks aboard one of the ships or at the picnic area on Mr P's base.. both are over the water. To be honest I don't care where we watch them as long as we watch them. Originally I wanted a shrimp boil and to spend the day at the beach, but I got voted out for a more cost effective and traditional day.
